Sina, hi,
it must have been hard for you to get the bad news but on the other hand they are very slow growing and appear to be in an accessible location so there is no reason to be depressed, just evaluate all the options available to make the right choice!
About the single radiation treatment. It is so called radiosurgery which is not a surgery at all but the bigger single radiation dose delivered to a met and it burns the met inside of the body. It is getting done in many places now but also there are other local treatment options avail. such as local ablation with the cold (cryo), RFA and LITT. In Germany we have the contacts with Dr.Vogl from Frankfurt, but I would assume that local ablation is avail. locally where you live, just find the experienced doc - they are interventional radiologists - that has done at least 100 procedures. Ivan already had 3 and it is easy for the patient when the size of the met is about 10 mm. We prefer cryo as it makes less damage to the nerves and blood vessels but we are happy to have the experiences cryo doc here in Vancouver now, it is not used that often as RFA and takes more expensive technological unit and more training to do it. Comp. to radiosurgery, there is less damage to the surrounding tissue of the lungs.

Hello {{{Sina}}}
Yes, surgery does suck but it is worth the suck and you know how to deal with it after so it will be easier now for you. It is what i keep telling myself lol Look at it from a different side it is what i try and do every time i hear some news. I was taught this by a dear friend... 2mm is VERY small and i am sure they missed the mets they were then i am sure 2 an 3 mm thats lil... I do know how hearing the 2 MM change is very upsetting i go thru this every six months. But if you realy look at the big picture this is still good news! Please, shake the sad off an go back to Sina the cancer i am going to smash you mode <3
