Hi Debbie
Thanks for your reply i very much appreciate it!
My family member had synovial sarcoma - chest wall around top two ribs, it was 6cm in size. She's had all the conventional treatment - 4 rounds of Maid chaemo prior to surgery, radiation and surgery followed by 2 final rounds of chaemo. She had a pleural effusion during her final chaemo which is scarey even though it was drained & no malignant cells found. First lot of followup scans due end of this month
SS is very high risk of lung mets that's why im trying to find someone in Oz who performs cryotherapy should need arise as it seems least invasive treatment. I also have started her on high dose omega 3/ low omega 6 .
Im not great at navigating forums - how is it best to send a message to Damian?
How is your son doing now? I can't imagine anything more traumatic than watching your child go through such a tough battle.
Again many thanks!

My heart felt hugs coming your way .
It looks like you all are moving forward in the care of family member.
Are there many support groups with synovial sarcoma ?
The stats look like it is semi slow growing ?
Also Olga has a topic she updated with our USA doctor , Dr. Littrup, that maybe you could see if he knows of an interventional radiologist in Australia .
Also think about laser removal .
How many lung tumors is the radiologist seeing?
We had over 140 tumors removed from Joshua’s 2 lungs in Germany in 2013.
The amount of tumors in the lungs of patients with ASPS
(Alveolar soft part sarcoma ) is not usual, unfortunately

Re: Cryoablation in Australia
Dadoona, hi, I do not think that Damian knows of the cryoablation doctro in Australia as they did not need it so far, fortunately. Your best bet would be to look at the biggest cancer treatment center and in the interventional radiology departments. Or consider traveling to US to get treated by Dr.Littrup as he provides and excellent quality and treatment outcome.
The other way to search for the interventional radiologist is on the SIR web-site here: https://www.sirweb.org/patient-center/doctor-finder/
I found one that lists cryoablation (for the hepatic tumors though):
John Ioannis Vrazas, MD, Consultant Interventional Radiologist
Office Phone Number:

Practice or Primary Hospital:

Olga’s link is an excellent one .
Damian says he sees prostrate and cardiac interventional radiologist in Oz , but not much other thru his research .
But wanted to remind you to look for the doctor with the most experience
Also suggested that you check with your oncologist and or contacting an interventional doc and ask for specialist in lung procedures.
He’s going to school to get his nursing degree , I believe
