Hello All,
Some very very hopeful and amazing news today on the IDEO brace! I spoke
with the amazing people at IDEO, who are now a part of Hangar Prosthetics.
They have their base in Seattle (the IDEO division).
This BRACE IS AVAILABLE TO US NOW!!! I asked if it is possible for us LSS
people to be able to run, hike, etc.. They said yes, it is possible! They
told me it has been used in special forces personnel who have had LSS and
are back in active duty jumping out of planes and hiking in Afghanistan.
The process is that you send a video of the patient walking, they send you a
brace to try, if it works/helps, then insurance, docs, etc get involved, and
you get a custom brace. You must fly to Seattle for a fitting and
customization.
