Role surgery to remove the primary in metastatic setting

Post by Olga »

It is a very important article for the patients that were already present with the metastatic stage ASPS when diagnosed. It is very often that we see that their oncologists recommend a conservative treatment approach, and no surgery to remove a primary tumor - as it has already disseminated.
Drs from the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston studied how the surgery to remove the primary influences the overall survival and they found:

"For DM ()disease metastatic) patients, primary site surgery significantly improved survival"

it would work for the insurance appeals as well.
