Just wanted to bring to an attention to all members and especially the new ones. This is about the pneumonia vaccination ( has nothing to do with the Covid caused pneumonia).
Due to increased time our patients have to spend at the hospitals, and some of them having to undergo the invasive lung procedures and surgeries, plus reduced aeration capabilities of their lungs caused by the metastases or scarring - their risk to catch the pneumonia and get it in a severe form is much higher than for the general population. Usually this vaccination is available trough your health provider, it is a composite vaccine that covers most of the commonly circulated bugs that can cause the pneumonia.
We have a case of the multi-focal pneumonia in one of our patients currently, requiring hospitalization. It prompted me to remind all of you, including the parents over the age 65.
