I guess I would not to anything at this moment, its just that when I do have them I'm thinking what to do to exlude them from the diagnose or remove completly

I imagine I would do same thing in your situation. As asps is characteristig with late metastases you need scans for rest of your life anyway. Trying to minimise radiation exposure is however important. I use mri as much as possible. I know it is very scary to life with this disease, but it can be lived with even if lesions are asps metastases.

Hi all,

Its been some time since I've posted any updated so here is the last one.

I did my Thorax CT on 15th of March and Pelvic and Abdomen MRI on 16th of March.

I got my result for the CT which are good and clear. but never got the ones from MRI. I managed to talk to the radiologist that always looks at my scans and said is perfectly fine and I was just waiting for the result but in the mean time she got in a surgery and sick leave for the next month and I never managed to get it written.

I will do next one in 5 month round 16th of August.

in the meantime nothing new living normally

In the last month I'm feeling a chest pain somehow in my chest muscle. I think I did some bad exercising in the winter in the Gym but I'm not so sure.
Probably I will go next weeks that someone checks in with a ultrasound..

Hi Martin

The scan results sound great !

Good to hear from you . :)

Have you been able to have a bone scan lately?
The ultrasound will be where ?

The 2 above would be a good combo ?
I bet you are correct that it’s exercised induced
But glad you are checking it out .

Let us know

I have not done a bone scan since March 2015, when I had the initial diagnose.

I'm not sure if I should do it seeing the other results, as it is higher dose of radiation.

My wife is pregnant and expecting delivery end of July, I just might do some time after as it is radioactive isotope as I know, that is used

I tried to get a Bone scan but there is none available at the moment through our Public health system so I should do this on my own in a private hospital.

Do you think I should do a Bone scan or with the latest results is not necessary?

Hello Martin

Are you still having chest pains ? Chest muscle pains ?
You had an MRI on your pelvic area but a CT on your chest , correct ?
Did you get the results on your MRI?
Had your doc known of the muscle pain prior to the scans ?

MRI (magnetic resonance imaging)

MRI uses radio waves and strong magnets instead of x-rays to take pictures of the body. MRI scans are often part of the work-up of any tumor that could be a sarcoma. They're often better than CT scans in evaluating sarcomas in the arms or legs.

I personally dont use bonescans for 2 reasons: bone scan has lots of radiation and bones are rarely vital. Full body mri would be ideal for asps, but it is expensive. So I settle to mri for brains, lungs and abdomen and scan arms and legs if there is any symptoms there.

Whole body MRI are not avail. in many places - for example we do not have them. We had few oncologists saying that if you get a bone met, you'd know that - they are painful, so investigate if there is a consistent pain in some area.

the pain i my chest is in my chest muscle. I did not had it during the scan in March

however if it was something big that can cause pain I think it was going to be something visible, right?

seems that the pain is less and less to me.

I think I over estimated my self in the Gym few times.

Martin - we had few people with the mets in the rib. It is my understanding that even the minimal bone met is painful, it is not going to be visible till a relatively big size - Amanda had it Dx at the size of 20 mm or so, I do not remember. Anything in the chest area should be visible at the CT scans.

Hello again Martin
Because your doctor wasn’t aware of your chest pains , prior to the CT scan, I’d call and have him and the radiologist look at the CT again . Double check .
Have a good remaining day . : )
