Ivan wrote:The latest scans have been forwarded to Dr. Littrup to review after the holidays. Apparently, one of the mets which are slowly growing is in an awkward location. The other one is easy. This is based on what the local ablation doctors said after reviewing the scans and agreeing with me that there was a slight interval increase in met size.

We hope you get some answers soon so you can plan your next move with removing these possible tumors
You know the drill. Get all the pros and cons of removing the 'awkward' located tumor as awkward =risky to me?
Of course we have no choice having been dx with ASPS, huh ? Life, living is forever risky here on out .
However with your outlook with this disease, you are doing great in your fight to beating it!
Happy new year ! 2014

Dr Littrup reviewed the latest lungs CT scans from 12/2/13.

this is his opinion:
"The right lung lesion has slightly increased since March 2013 and even though it is a central lesion, it is still doable with cryoablation.

The left lung lesion has not really gown at all.

That being said, lesions need to be at least 1cm for us to try to ablate them and taking into consideration that there is slight change in one of these, he recommends holding off on any ablation until seeing what the next scan shows."

I guess he did not compare the left scan to few years ago, that way the growth is not seen. We will probably have the next lungs CT scheduled for the end April or beginning May (about 5 months from the previous scan) and go from there.

Olga and Ivan

Thanks so much for the update
We are all so appreciative of your example to how this ASPS can be met head on and be fought
I hope for there to be a day when we ALL will not have to be consumed with scans and doctors
and then live our lives free of so much fear of this beast

Take care my friends

Hi Olga and Happy Healthy New Year best wishes to you, Ivan , and your family.
Thank you for the update on Dr. Littrup's review of Ivan's most recent lung CT scans. I am so grateful that Dr. Littrup feels that the centrally located lesion in Ivan's right lung is ablatable and that he will be able to ablate it if it continues to grow and becomes larger than one Cm.
In the meantime, I am holding very tight to Hope for good news of no new mets from Ivan's upcoming brain MRI at the end of this month and his abdominal MRI in February.
Take care and enjoy a beautiful beginning to the New Year.
With special caring thoughts and continued Hope,
Bonni
