Better surv. in pat. with stage 4 RCC after primary removal

This is the first article of that kind that I have seen that proves the benefit of the primary removal in a setting of the stage 4 (metastatic) disease. Although the study was done not in ASPS but in RCC, I expect that it can be used as a starting point in someone's attempt to have the primary removed in a stage 4 ASPS setting.

Aben KKH et al. – Even after accounting for prognostic profile, patients still benefit from a nephrectomy; an approximately 50% reduction in mortality was observed. It is, therefore, recommended that patients with metastasised disease receive cytoreductive surgery when there is no contraindication. Trial results on cytoreductive surgery combined with targeted molecular therapeutics are awaited for.
