Growth inhibition of unresectable mets after hepatic cryo

Post by Olga »

new article about two amazing cases when cryoablation was done for some of the liver metastases and as a result not only treated but also untreated metastases regressed:

Growth inhibition of unresectable tumors induced by hepatic cryoablation: report of two cases.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18507113

Of interest is that one of this cases is about the GIST metastases and GIST is a sarcoma. Dr.Littrup does cryoablation for the liver mets. I have seen before an article that as an organ, liver is very immonogenic - liver metastases cause more pronounced immune response then metastases in other organs.
