femur bone met case (50 mm)

I am in contact with someone with ASPS who does not post here as they do not feel like it. In order for the information not to be lost, I am reporting now on their behalf a case of the femur bone met to rise an awareness as it is rare and other patients have to know what to watch for.
The problem started from the limping, but was not considered important at that time. After the problem worsened, the PET/CT was done and the bone met was found. Since it was already advanced about 5 cm (50 mm), a part of the bone had to be resected and replaced with the graft.
Please, be aware of this situation and be cautious about any new and persistent symptoms. Bone scan done once a year is too a good idea, Ivan already started having it done since this past Feb. in addition to the yearly brain MRI.
If found early on a really small size the bone met can be ablated locally like Brittany had RFA with the great success, but it depends on the location.
