Re: Alveolar soft-part sarcoma: a hormone-sensitive tumour? 1988

Hormones do influence so many processes in the body, so it's understandable why ASPS would spark curiosity in this area. Based on current research, ASPS is not generally considered hormone-sensitive, but more studies are needed to fully understand its interactions with hormones.

Re: Non-mutational neoantigens in disease

Non-mutational neoantigens are definitely an important area of study. It's fascinating how immune recognition doesn't always rely on mutations but can come from other mechanisms like epitope mimicry, cryptic epitopes, or even post-translational modifications. These insights could have big ...

Re: Immune gene signatures as prognostic criteria for cancer patients

This is an interesting read on the use of immune gene signatures (IGSs) as prognostic tools for cancer patients. IGSs, based on T cells and tumor-associated macrophages, could potentially help predict disease outcomes and therapy responses. However, there are limitations, like errors in immune cell ...

Re: Hormonal contraception and the development of autoimmunity: A review of the literature

Just dropping back in after a while - I came across this discussion again about hormonal contraceptives and the risk of autoimmune diseases. It’s pretty interesting how much estrogen and progestins can impact the immune system. If anyone had issues after using Depo-Provera, it might be worth knowing ...

Re: Modeling Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma Unveils Novel Mechanisms of Metastasis

I like how the mouse model actually shows tumor cells slipping into blood vessels and the part GPNMB plays-might be just what we need for new treatments.

Re: Metabolic landscapes in sarcomas

It’s really cool to see how genetic changes can twist cancer metabolism in sarcomas. I especially liked the part about how the tumor environment and immune response get affected.

Re: Bone Metastasis and Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC): Microenvironment …

It looks like when NSCLC spreads to bones, immunotherapy doesn’t work as well. Maybe adding treatments that help strengthen bones could cut down on pain and fractures.
