For everyones info ipiliumiab is FDA approved for the treatment of melanoma as Yervoy.
I would encourage research into this since melanoma and ASPS have many commanalities.

Re: Anthony's disease has progressed

Anthony's tumors have started growing again. The largest has grown 5mm in three months. 1.9cm to 2.4cm.

Re: Get a Second Surgical Opinion!
When you say DFCI are you also including Boston Children's Hospital in that analysis? Anthony's surgeon was the Chief of Surgery at the children's hospital. Is it just the luck of the draw which surgeon they assign?

Re: Nelfinavir (Viracept) - NIH
I realize you were not impressed with the surgeon Dana Farber recommended you to, but since they recommended you to a surgeon I do not understand the "the Dana Farber philosophy of don't operate unless you really have to." Dr. Goldberg also recommended my son have surgery on his primary. Y...

I am loathe to start something which might damage his immune system or have other known/unknown side effects since t...

Latest CT scan results
It has been approximately 32mnths since Anthony started the clinical trial. He had his latest CT scans and bone scans done on the 15th. :D The results are stable disease. We were told it looks like some grew a little and some shrunk a little. Which to me means probably no change just how the slices ...

Re: Treatment Success in Stage IV ASPS - NED & Stable Diseas
Over the next 45 years, until the end of Coley's medical career in 1936, thousands of patients were treated with Coley's toxin. Coley gained extensive experience in the treatment of a large variety of malignant diseases, including soft tissue sarcomas, lymphomas, osteosarcomas, Ewing's sarcomas, and...

Re: Treatment Success in Stage IV ASPS - NED & Stable Diseas
Contributing to the discussion of why mets may stabilize after surgery. I read a recent article on general anesthetics causing more pain after surgery. The article It basically said that some general anesthetics cause an imflamatory response while others do not. This response leads to more pain/swel...
