I don't know whether this is helpful information or not - but there are at least some papers that suggest that surgical resection may be less risk for dissemination than cryoablation or radiofrequency ablation. I also came across another paper that suggested that radioablation had less risk for spreading tumor than cryoablation. It may be it is too difficult to compare with different patients, doctors, and conditions though. With surgery, a tumor is intact and removed; with RFA or cryoablation, a probe is inserted and the tumor killed and left there. If tumor cells break off and are not completely dead they may lead to metastases in other locations.
If a patient is not a good operative risk, RFA or cryoablation may kill off a tumor that is immediately threatening - and that is a good thing... but if surgery can be done, it may be preferred for ASPS - especially as it is a "slower growing" cancer and there may be more years at risk for the development of future tumors than in other conditions.
